Plastic recycling company Plasgran has said it is looking to regain PRN accreditation and has blamed its cancellation on “inadvertent documentation failures”.

Last week, Plasgran had its PRN accreditation cancelled by the Environment Agency.

In a statement provided to REB Market Intelligence, Plasgran owner Berry Global said: “We take the Environment Agency accreditation of Plasgran Ltd seriously.

“We received notification of cancellation of accreditation from the UK Environment Agency on 8 July 2021 due, in large part, to inadvertent documentation failures and are investigating and addressing the issues identified with the appropriate rigour necessary to return to accredited status.

“This status change will have no impact on Plasgran’s ability to meet our current or future customer commitments. While we are disappointed in this audit decision, we remain focused on addressing areas of documentation improvement as necessary to regain accreditation.

“We trust that our customers will continue to have confidence in our dedication to the products and services we deliver.”
