There was a little price rise seen for grades such as HDPE bottles, LDPE, copper and aluminium, according to last week’s Intelligence report.
However, it seems likely these current prices will only be temporary.
HDPE bottles and LDPE film both rose by £10 per tonne on the back of some gambling in the market (get a free trial of Intelligence to find out more – see below).
Copper was up by £50 per tonne, while brass and aluminium grades rose by £25.
While the paper market was mostly stable, mixed paper came off by another £2 per tonne after losing £3 in value last week.
