RBMR director Steve Clasby said: “When Chilton Waste Services came up for sale, we realised it was a great opportunity but had to move quickly to prevent it from falling into irreparable financial distress.

“The acquisition marks a significant milestone for RBMR, adding to our growing network of recycling facilities across the south. Geographically, the site couldn’t be better placed, extending the reach of our services north into Oxfordshire.”

Chilton’s recycling facility in Dicot is permitted to process 150,000 tonnes of waste a year.  Hampshire-based RBMR hopes to use its technology to increase the percentage of waste recycled at Chilton from 35 per cent currently to 90 per cent or more.
