Please note this report just focuses on the waste polymers of ethylene commodity code (391510), as exports of other plastics are relatively small in volume.
Exports were a little higher in November 2022 reaching 20,972 tonnes, according to the latest HMRC data. This was up from 20,156 tonnes in October.
The EU was the main market with 12,943 tonnes in November, up from 12,463 tonnes in the previous month.
Of this, 6,088 tonnes went to the Netherlands, increasing from October’s. 5,349 tonnes.
Germany took 2,199 tonnes in November, up from 2,060 tonnes in the preceding month.
Belgium also upped its imports of UK material buying 1,843 tonnes, from 1,560 tonnes in October.
The only destination of any consequence after the EU was Turkey which was largely stable with 6,495 tonnes in November and 6,626 tonnes in October.
