Exports of scrap polymers of ethylene from the UK worldwide slightly increased in June to 39,996 tonnes, up from the 39,689 tonnes in May. It is also better than the June 2017 figure of 39,197 tonnes.
Similar to May, Malaysia remained the key buyer in June, purchasing 9,972 tonnes. However, this is down on May when it bought 10,406 tonnes.

The UK exported 4,183 tonnes to China in June, making it the most the country has bought this year so far. However, this is a big decline form a year ago when it bought 13,836 tonnes.
Europe as a whole was the second-best buyer this month, as it imported 6,007 tonnes from the UK. Although, this is a slight decrease from May when it bought 6,572 tonnes. Poland remained the best destination with 2,678 tonnes.
Vietnam saw the lowest number it imported from the UK in June at 1,677 tonnes, down from 4,289 in May. It is also down from June 2017 when it bought 3,276 tonnes.
