Globally, 27,712 tonnes of this material was sent from the UK. This a slight improvement from last month when 27,670 tonnes was exported. However, this is a decrease from April 2018, when 29,501 tonnes was bought.

The EU remained the dominant buyer of this material, importing 8,604 tonnes, up from 7,273 tonnes. Poland purchased the most (2,726 tonnes), followed by Spain (1,832 tonnes).
Vietnam’s trend of buying zero amounts of this material was seen again throughout April. This is no change from March when it also bought zero tonnes. It is, however, a big difference from April 2018 (4,084 tonnes).
The UK exported 687 tonnes to Malaysia, a big fall from the 3,228 tonnes last month. This is the lowest amount since January 2014 (595 tonnes).
China’s imports fell from 482 tonnes in March to 303 tonnes this month.
Turkey was the key buyer globally of this material as it purchased 8,096 tonnes. Although this is a decrease from March when it imported 10,532 tonnes.
