It is a significant investment for REGAIN Polymers, and the state-of-the-art twin screw extruder will be complemented by Gala’s leading, underwater pelletising system.

The downstream equipment is designed to produce excellent pellet quality and uniformity, as well as significantly reducing any potential pellet moisture, ensuring a better end product is produced.

Regain Polymers technical sales director Mark Roberts said: “Preliminary work was carried out, installing a new 1500kVA power supply and extending the extrusion hall to accommodate the new extrusion line. The twin screw extruder went into full production as planned at the start of June, increasing our extrusion capacity by 40 per cent.

“As our strategy for 2012 is one for growth, investing in this new technology provides a significant move for REGAIN Polymers. Not only will the new machinery increase our volume output and our capacity to supply the market, it also ensures we are well placed to move the business forward and achieve our growth plans for 2012.”
