Mura Technology subsidiary ReNew ELP has awarded a 10-year operations and maintenance contract to px Group at its commercial scale recycling plant on Teesside.
The ReNew ELP plant will use the company’s HydroPRS technology platform to chemically recycle end-of-life plastic.
It uses supercritical water to break down post-consumer plastics into a range of valuable liquid hydrocarbon products including naphtha, gas oils and heavy wax residue, that can be made into new plastics.
At the Wilton International site on Teesside, ReNew ELP and px Group will initially process 20,000 tonnes of plastic year, with ambitions to increase this to 80,000 tonnes per year.
px Group is also based in Teesside and owns and operates the Saltend Chemicals Park in Hull.
The awarding of this contract will lead to the creation of 30 jobs.

The facility is expected to open in 2023.
