Pan-European plastic post-industrial LDPE films recycling investor Repeats Group has invested in Italian LDPE recycler Polimero.
The financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
This is the first time that Repeats Group has invested in Italy and follows two recent investments in Spain and the Netherlands.
Polimero, which is based close to Venice, uses a mechanical process to convert plastic waste into resin suitable for commercial and industrial applications.
As part of Repeats Group, Polimero plans to expand its production to meet the growing European demand for recycled LDPE.
Repeats Group chief executive Greg Rung said: “Polimero has a great reputation in the industry as an important player in the LDPE recycling environment in northern Italy.
Polimero will continue to be led by existing chief executive Simonetta Tiberto.
“We see significant opportunity for Polimero to further penetrate the Italian market by providing its clients with higher quality recycled resin. We are delighted that Simonetta and her team are joining Repeats and look forward to building on their success.”
