Ryanair has announced that it has set a target to be plastic free in the next five years as part of its “Always Getting Better” plan.
The plan sets out actions to improve customer experience, service, digital and environmental developments.
Eliminating all non-recyclable plastics from the airline means customers will use wooden cutlery and bio-degradable coffee cups, as well as removing plastics from its range of in-flight products, said Ryanair chief marketing officer Kenny Jacobs.
He added: “We are very pleased to announce our environmental plan which includes our commitment to eliminate all non-recyclable plastics from our operations over the next five years. We will also introduce a scheme to allow customers to offset the carbon cost of their flight through a voluntary climate charity donation online.”
