Samsonite launch range made from recycled materials

Travel luggage company Samsonite Europe has launched an assortment of luggage and bags made from recycled materials.

The collection was developed by the innovation team at Samsonite Europe, and is made from two new eco-conscious materials, Recyclex fabric, made from 100% post-consumer recycled PET plastic bottles, and recycled polypropylene.

This range will be available across five collections including S’Cure ECO,Spark SNG Eco, and Move 2.0 ECO, as well as two new product ranges including Ziproll and Hexa-Packs. All ranges will be available in store and online.

Over the past year, Samsonite has launched over 30 collections globally that are made from recycled materials and has said that it intends to add more to the range in 2019.

Samsonite global director of sustainability Christine Riley Miller said: “Through the launch of these collections, we intend to combine our thirst for innovation with our commitment to sustainability in order to pass on a better world for the generations to come. Being able to repurpose post-consumer and post-industrial plastic waste and incorporate it into new products is a great way of avoiding harm to our planet.

“Known for its uncompromised focus on high-quality products and durability, Samsonite is looking ahead to set new standards of sustainability for travelling and commuting. We believe these collections will inspire travellers around the world to make a sensible yet stylish choice that benefits the environment.”
