Chinese paper company Shanying International has begun the operation of its recycled pulp line at its new facility in Thailand.

Situated in Prachin Buri province, the plant has been fitted out by Kadant Fiberline (China), which is a subsidiary of mill equipment manufacturer Kadant.

Test runs started in May using OCC furnish from the United States. It is expected that the recycled pulp produced at the mill will be sent to China to be used in Shanying’s board machines.

Kadant Fiberline (China) president Scott Warner said: “Once again, we are very pleased to have been selected by Shanying to supply our OCC and approach flow systems.

“As part of the Kadant Foundations fibre processing product line, this system features innovative technologies and equipment enabling the mill to operate with excellent stock quality and yield while generating up to a 20% reduction in fibre and energy consumption.”
