Sims’ European chief executive Graham Davy leaves the metal recycler

Graham Davy has left Sims Metal Management with immediate effect, the company has announced.

In a brief statement, Sims announced that he had left the company but did not give a reason for his departure.

The statement said: “Effective immediately, Graham Davy chief executive Europe and Global Sims Recycling Solutions (SRS), is no longer employed by the company. Among other management changes, Hans-Otto Hagemann has been appointed acting managing director SRS Continental Europe and SRS UK.”

Although Sims was forced in February to write-down its inventory by £50 million at two of its UK sites and it continues to investigate a possible fraud at its Newport and Long Marston facilities, there is no suggestion that the departure of Graham Davy is linked to these events.

Hans-Otto Hagemann is currently SRS managing director Continental Europe and is based in Germany.
