Investment in its depot network has led to Smurfit Kappa opening a new recycling depot at Snodland in Kent.
The paper and cardboard recycler has also installed new balers at Snodland, as well as at existing depots in Blackburn and Glasgow.
It has also improved traffic flow at its depot in Nottingham.
The new Snodland facility is processing locally-sourced paper and cardboard for recycling at the new Smurfit Kappa Townsend Hook mill on the same site.
Smurfit Kappa Recycling managing director Paul Clarke said: “At Smurfit Kappa Recycling, we are committed to sustainable development as we strive to enhance environmental performance, safety and customer service. This round of investment in the facilities at Snodland, Glasgow, Blackburn, Nottingham, Birmingham and Tamworth depots is further evidence of this commitment.”
