This follows it winning 100 new contracts across the Tyneside area to collect a variety or recycling streams from household, commercial and industrial sources.

At present the company collects 100,000 tonnes of material per year.

Commercial manager Mark Penny said: “Over the last 12 months we’ve been expanding into the Tyneside area in a bid to push outside of our normal boundaries.

“When the business launched in 2008, we provided a collection round for glass bottles, but in the last three years the business has developed through the building of two recycling facilities in Hartlepool, one of which now processes all types of waste, while the other specialises in kerbside recyclables.”
