Aluminium rolling and recycling company Novelis is to receive cans from two new aggregation centres.

Serving the London and South East region, the centres will offer more options for the delivery of used aluminium beverage cans for recycling.

It is part of Novelis’ strategy to augment its existing network of used aluminium can suppliers and reach its target of achieving 80 per cent recycled content by 2020.

The expansion is part of a new partnership between Novelis and European Metal Recycling (EMR).

EMR’s site in Eirth, Kent will serve suppliers in East London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex while its site in Brentford will be close to suppliers in West and North London and the Home Counties.

Novelis leader scrap procurement UK UBC Keith Guest (pictured with EMR’s Dax Tremian) said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with EMR. Its ethos and goals are closely aligned with those of Novelis, and we look forward to a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship.”
