Dealers in the United States of OCC are reporting that China has been trying to push down the price of OCC by $10 per tonne.
In May, according to trade magazine Recycling Today, exporters were reporting that Chinese buyers attempted to force through $10 per tonne price falls, but US buyers were able to resist because of strong domestic demand.
It also reports that US domestic demand for ONP is high. As a result of this, it is expected that US prices for OCC and ONP should remain high for the next few months, despite recent fears that a price correction was imminent. Â
