Permission has been given for Waste Management Inc to build a materials recycling facility (MRF) in Topeka, Kansas.
Shawnee County commissioners have authorised the company to build the MRF with a conditional use permit.

Construction is expected to be completed early next year once a local kerbside collection scheme begins.
The MRF will process glass, plastic, cardboard and newspapers with other refuse collectors and the public having access to the facility.
