With Viridor undertaking a strategic investment programme of more than £1 billion, it has decided to employ a director to look after capital projects and engineering.
Alan Cumming is joining the board as capital projects and engineering director from February.

He will be based at Viridor’s head office in Taunton and will lead the existing engineering department in the delivery of Viridor’s capital programme.
Previously, he worked at EDF as deputy director of construction, project controls and procurement in its nuclear new build programme.
Viridor chief executive Colin Drummon said: “Alan’s skills and knowledge will complement the existing Viridor board and company structure. We look forward to welcoming him to this new and important role.”
