Wastecare acquires local recycler to ‘broaden’ the services it offers

Yorkshire recycler Wastecare has acquired Hull-based circular economy specialist CleanEco Group.

Wastecare said the “strategic purchase” enhanced its capacity to deliver “innovative, efficient and eco-friendly solutions”.

CleanEco specialises in recycling aerosols, plastics and contaminated packaging among other waste streams.

Wastecare chairman Peter Hunt said the acquisition marked “an exciting new chapter” for his firm.

He added: “CleanEco has built an excellent reputation for innovation and service in the waste sector.

“By bringing it into the Wastecare Group, we will strengthen our national network and broaden the range of services we offer while continuing our shared commitment to environmental responsibility.”

CleanEco Group managing director David Cuckney said: “Becoming part of the Wastecare Group is a fantastic opportunity for CleanEco’s team, customers and partners.

“We’re proud of what we’ve built, and this move enables us to scale our impact, access new resources and continue delivering industry-leading sustainable solutions.”
