CRT Recycling managing director Carl Kruger has welcomed the EA endorsement, which follows years of discussions between the two parties. “We have always believed our end product not only meets a range of high quality parameters but also has significant environmental benefits over using virgin raw materials. This is a vote of commonsense and I commend the Agency for their approach and support of our investment and ethics.”
An Environment Agency spokesperson confirmed: “We want to make it easier to use waste derived products without the need for regulatory control where the waste material used has achieved end of waste status. Our aim is to remove any unnecessary regulatory burden on business whilst at the same time, ensuring the environment is appropriately protected.”
