The Biffa Group has bought Scottish recycler Northern Recycling Solutions (NRS).
The deal will see the Alness firm acquired by skip hire and commercial-refuse business Hamilton Waste & Recycling.
Hamilton, which has been part of the Biffa Group for two years, will take on the entire staff of NRS including brother-and-sister owner-managers Ewan Calder and Katie Mount.
Biffa construction and demolition managing director Robin Stevenson, who spent seven years at Hamilton, welcomed NRS as a “fantastic addition to the group”.
Calder said on social media: “After 19 incredible years we would like to announce the sale of NRS to Hamilton Waste & Recycling, who are part of the Biffa Group.
“This move offers many benefits, including security of disposal routes, wider reach for waste services and financial stability for further growth and investment.
“The Hamilton Waste & Recycling business model is to maintain the current team in full, so your usual contacts at NRS will remain, as will the excellent customer service levels that have defined us.
“Katie and I will stay on and will be making contact with individual customers in due course, we are excited and proud to continue growing NRS as we embark on our next chapter.”
