Paper-bottle producer Frugalpac is seeking £5 million to kickstart another wave of innovation.

The Suffolk firm launched a crowdfunding process in a bid to raise cash for new products including recyclable paint pots, takeaway cups and food tubs.

Frugalpac has made 3 million bottles consisting 94 per cent of recycled paper for more than 50 brands across 27 countries.

It generates revenue by selling its Frugal Bottle Assembly Machines to packaging companies and contract bottlers, while earning recurring royalties on every bottle produced.

The firm is urging investors to become shareholders as it looks to boost this project and start new lines. It has raised over £23.5 million to date.

Frugalpac chief executive Malcolm Waugh said: “Our mission is simple.

“We’re offering a scalable alternative to glass that reduces emissions, supports circularity and is already being embraced by the drinks industry.

“This crowdfunding allows eligible investors to back a proven technology at a crucial moment – and help us accelerate our impact around the world.”
