B&M win waste contract with train firm Alstom

Waste management company B&M has won the contract to deal with the waste from train manufacturer and maintenance company Alstom.

B&M will provide an integrated waste service for three traincare centres in Liverpool, Manchester and Glasgow.

The team from B&M are now carrying out detailed audits to verify throughput and will then be installing baling equipment and putting recycling co-ordinators on site to ensure material is being separated properly for recycling.

B&M commercial manager Kevin Wood said: “This is a very exciting win for our team. Alstom maintain 52 tilting Virgin Pendolinos on the West Coast Mainline and they have a commitment to ensure that 47 trains are available at any time, seven days per week, 364 days per year.

“Efficiency and reliability are of the utmost importance to Alstom, so they need to work with service providers that can work to the same high standards.”
