The latest production of statistics for 2015 by CEPI shows that paper and board production was stable in Europe.
A total of 90.9 million tonnes of paper and board was produced by CEPI members in 2015, down just 0.2% on 2014.

Graphic grades (newsprint, writing and printing paper) represented 38.8% of all paper and board produced in Europe in 2015, with packaging grades at 49%, sanitary and household papers at 7.9% and speciality grades at 4.3%.
While packaging papers saw an increase in production by 2.6% to 44,572 million tonnes, graphic papers fell by 3.8% to 35,265 million tonnes.
A total of 55,935 million tonnes of paper was collected for recycling in Europe, up 1.4% on the year before.
