Gavin Shuker replaced by Thomas Docherty as Shadow Environment Minister

Thomas Docherty has been appointed as Shadow Environment Minister as part of Labour leader Ed Miliband’s reshuffle of his team.

He replaces Gavin Shuker who was admired in the recycling industry for engaging with the industry to understand the brief after he was appointed to the role in March 2011. He has now moved to take a Shadow Minister role at the Department of International Development.

Thomas Docherty is the Labour MP for Dunfermline and West Fife and was elected in 2010.

He has served on the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee in Parliament.
