The scrap metal will be graded, cleaned and densified on the island before being transported to the UK for processing. This approach means the latest recycling technology can be used to achieve high recycling rates and produce top quality products, as well as minimising the waste for disposal on Jersey.

Hunt Bros director James Hunt said: “We’re really excited to have been awarded this contract. As a local company, we understand the metal recycling requirements of the island and we are focused on working hard to meet these.”
