Paper and board recycler WinfibreUK has appointed former DS Smith stalwart Andrew Cockerill.
He will take on the newly created role of sales manager for UK and Europe at the Nottingham-based firm.
Winifibre is the sole UK sales agent for Hong Kong headquartered Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing, which has capacity to produce more than 10m tonnes of material annually.
Cockerill was an account manager at DS Smith for eight years to 2017, according to his LinkedIn profile.
After this he worked for Multi Packaging Solutions, Corrboard UK and most recently Labrapack, where he was a director.
Cockerill said he was “thrilled” with his move to Winifibre.
“This is a great opportunity where we can focus on building long term, sustainable relationships with customers in the private and corporate sectors,” he added.
“The global packaging market is experiencing somewhat of a shift as Asia’s paper industry looks to tap into new markets. Lee & Man has a big appetite for success and a huge amount of investment in modern mills, which will allow us to compete on this scale effectively.”
