BIR launching World Council of Recycling Associations

A new body is to be launched that will bring together the presidents of recycling associations across the world.

Organised by the Bureau of International Recycling (BIR), the aim of the new body will be to “take forward the message of facilitating free and fair trade of recyclables with minimum regulatory controls”.

According to BIR president Ranjit Baxi, the BIR World Council of Recycling Associations would bring together president of various global recycling associations in an initiative that would enable them to “work together to tackle the challenges facing the global trade of recyclables”.

BIR also hope to launch a Global Recycling Day in 2017.
