In order to help its expansion, Hampshire’s Ecogen has purchased a new Presona baler.

With throughput increasing by 10% per month, Ecogen specified the Presona LP 65 VH K2 baler and has enabled it to bale 22 tonnes per hour of paper, cardboard and plastic from commercial sources instead of the 8 tonnes per hour it processed previously.

Ecogen takes post-manufacturing material from customers from across the UK, working with organisations in a range of sectors including automotive and food packaging.

Its managing director Will Nicholls said: “We had a Presona previously and we knew they performed well. We looked at the other options such as a twin ram or a shear baler, but the Presona prepress was the best machine to provide the level of compaction required.

“The new baler will facilitate our ongoing rapid growth, giving us the capacity to increase tonnage further.

“We also know that the Presona team will work hard for us, ensuring that everything is working as it should be week in, week out.”
