Most prices edging up on this week’s scrap-ex price report

The value of most materials has increased a little this week, although the market remains uncertain about whether this will be sustained.

Mixed Bottles scrap-ex Grade A were up to £235 to £270 this week from £225 to £260. HDPE milk bottles increased to £375 to £410 from last week’s £370 to £405, but PET bottles remained unchanged on £360 to £410. LDPE 98/2 film increased to £280 to £320 from £275 to £315.

In paper grades, OCC was back up to £100 to £110 from last week’s £95 to £110. News and pams were priced up this week at £115 to £122 to £110 to £120.

Metals are also increasing in price with copper –dry bright up to £4,600 to £4,875 from last week’s £4,525 to £4,850. Lead scrap moved up to £1,075 to £1,300 from £1,050 to £1,300. Aluminium cuttings were priced at £1,100 to £1,375 from last week’s £1,075 to £1,375.

Aluminium used beverage cans actually fell in price to £985 to £1,075 from £1,000 to £1,150 a week ago.

Glass was also down with clear falling to £14 to £20 from £16 to £22 a week ago. Amber was down to £12 to £18 from £14 to £20 last week.
