Glass recycler Recresco has secured three contracts that will see more than 700 tonnes of used containers sent to its facilities every week.
The Nottinghamshire-headquartered firm revealed that deals with Bedford Borough Council and Severn Waste Services had been extended for 12 months.
Meanwhile a new three-month agreement has been struk with Pembrokeshire County Council.
Recresco, which has been reprocessing glass for more than four decades, was acquired by packaging producer BA Glass just before Christmas.
The latest deals will see 125 tonnes of domestic and commercial containers sent to its Cwmbram site in South Wales every week.
A further 580 tonnes is expected to travel to the firm’s Ellesmere Port facility in Cheshire under the arrangements.
Recresco business development manager Fraser Macintyre said: “We are proud to have retained contracts with both Bedford Borough Council and Severn Waste Services and look forward to working closely with Pembrokeshire County Council for the duration of this new contract.
“These local contracts are not only crucial to our growth, but help us to continue our work with local communities to minimise waste and drive more glass into positive environmental outcomes.”
