Polymer exports saw a decrease in materials leaving UK shores at the start of 2024 across Europe and Asia, with 16,760 tonnes of PE-based plastics for recycling leaving the UK, compared to 19,849 in December.
Interestingly, exports to the Netherlands saw a considerable increase from 2,952 tonnes in December compared to 4,369 tonnes in January, indicating a strong start to the calendar year. Exports to Malaysia remained steady compared with December, and considerably up compared to January 2023.
