REPIC chair lands cross-Europe WEEE role

The chairman of producer compliance specialist REPIC has added an international recycling role to his portfolio.

Abs Bokhari was named director of Munich-headquartered WEEE Europe AG.

The former appliances guru, who held senior roles at both Hoover and Haier, will join compliance leaders from across Western Europe at the not-for-profit body.

Bokhari recently made the transition from non-executive to executive chairman of REPIC.

He will continue to help the Manchester-based compliance scheme operator create sustainable solutions to the complex requirements of electronics producers.

REPIC chief executive Graeme Milne said: “Abs’ transition into an executive chairman role will be instrumental as we seek to leverage his substantial producer experience and comprehensive industry knowledge to develop innovative strategies to navigate the complex landscape of compliance and sustainability on behalf of our members.”

Milne said Bokhari had been an “integral” part of the team for 12 years.

“I’m confident that with more direct involvement on key projects and maintaining REPIC’s leadership role at WEEE Europe, we will continue to thrive and set new benchmarks in the compliance sector,” he added.
