scrap-ex launch secondary commodities markets conference

A new conference has been launched by scrap-ex that will discuss the trading of recyclable materials.

The Secondary Commodities Markets conference, which will be held at One Drummond Gate in London on 13 October, will look at getting value from materials such as metals, paper, plastics and RDF and biomethane.

Confirmed speakers include Nick Parsons who is head of markets strategy – Europe at National Australia Bank; Ian Hetherington, director general, British Metals Recycling Association; Martin Marron, managing director, Biffa Polymers and Simon Barnes, business development manager SCA Recycling.

Sam Mehew, steel and scrap derivatives broker from Freight Investor Services is also speaking along with Joe Bisland, commercial director from Eurokey Recycling. Paul Rendle-Barnes, development manager, Avanti Environmental is also on the programme. More speakers will be confirmed soon.
