Stability returns for metal markets

After last week’s huge falls, prices on the LME stopped dropping on Friday.

Copper settled for three-month delivery at $8,875 (£5,457) on Friday from Thursday’s $8,819 (£5,458).

Aluminium was at $2,412 (£1,483) little changed from Thursday’s $2,402 (£1,487). Alloy was priced at $2,260 (£1,389) from $2,270 (£1,405) on Thursday.

Lead was up to $2,385 (£1,466) on Friday from $2,308 (£1,428) a day earlier. Nickel settled at $21,750 (£13,372) up from Thursday’s $21,225 (£13,137).

Tin was also up to $24,495 (£15,060) on Friday from $23,300 (£14,421) on Thursday. Zinc picked up to $2,187 (£1,345) from $2,156 (£1,334) on Thursday.

Steel fell to $565 (£347) compared to Thursday’s $575 (£356).
