The charity FoodCycle has been selected by Veolia as its charity partner.
FoodCycle provides meals for vulnerable people from surplus foods and was chosen due to its complementary objectives that are aligned with the group’s strategy of saving resources.
Under the partnership, Veolia will work with the national charity to help it achieve its three objectives:
- To reduce food waste
- To tackle social isolation
- To build communities.
Veolia senior executive vice-president UK & Ireland Estelle Brachlianoff (pictured) said: “Every year 7 million tonnes of food waste goes to landfill. There are a lot of other ways this could be turned into a resource and the work FoodCycle does is the perfect example of this.
“I see the partnership with FoodCycle going from strength to strength as together we can improve the lives of our communities.”
