The Malaysian Government looks set to introduce mandatory waste paper export inspections.

REB Market Intelligence understands that regulations are set to be published this month, but are awaiting sign-off by the minister responsible at the Department of Environment.

No details have yet been published by the Malaysian Government.

However, it is understood that the mandatory waste paper export inspections may begin as early as January 2021.

Netherlands-based company CWM Survey & Inspections has confirmed on its LinkedIn profile that it has been approved by the Malaysian Department of Environment as an accredited foreign inspection body for waste paper imports.
